Forensic Radiology – Welsh branch BIR

The evening will inform on the scope of practice, the indications and uses of post-mortem radiology including when it is considered an advantage over traditional post-mortem examination, for example in children and religious groups.

Normal CT appearances in deceased patients will be explained, as well as those appearances that indicate genuine pathology and potentially cause of death.

Educational aims:

  • To understand the evolving role radiology in post-mortem examinations
  • To gain knowledge of normal imaging findings after death
  • To identify genuine pathology, i.e. post-mortem and antemortem findings in post-mortem radiology
