Dr Paul McCroubie

Consultant Radiologist, Southmead Hospital 

Proudly hailing from the West Riding of Yorkshire, Paul McCoubrie qualified from St George’s Hospital Medical School in 1996. He trained in radiology in Sheffield and Bristol and has been a Consultant Radiologist at North Bristol NHS Trust since 2004. He has a long-standing interest in medical education (MEd 2004), was Lead Anatomy Examiner for the Royal College of Radiologists (2011-15), RCR Human Factors Advisor (2016-18) and Head of the Severn School of Radiology (2016-2020). He is currently External Examiner for the Faculty of Radiology, Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland. His subspecialty interests include abdominopelvic radiology, nuclear medicine & PET.  His first book, The Rules of Radiology was published in 2021 followed by it’s sister volume More Rules of Radiology in 2024

Dr Sharan Wadhwani

Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham and Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Worcester

Graduated from University of Leeds School of Medicine in 2004, completed specialist Radiology training in Manchester in 2012, Completed Fellowship Abdominal Imaging in Toronto 2013. Endoscopic Ultrasound in Cambridge 2016-18. Currently work across Worcestershire and Birmingham.

Endoscopic Ultrasound in both secondary care (Worcester) and a tertiary/quarternary (Birmingham) unit, one of the largest multi visceral transplant centres in Europe.

Education Officer for the British Society for Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiologists. Widely published including journal and textbook chapter publications. RCR/BSGAR representative on JAG stakeholder and training/quality committees.

Dr Andrea Howes

Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust 

Dr Howes is a Consultant General Radiologist with sub-speciality interests in Radionuclide Radiology and Skin Cancer, both of which were entirely unplanned.

She trained in Clinical Radiology in Merseyside and has been a Consultant Radiologist at the former St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (now Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust) for 21 years.

She has been the radiology lead for skin cancer in Cheshire and Merseyside for almost 18 years and co-chaired the regional Skin Cancer Network Group from 2013-2016.

Outside of work she can generally be found running or crocheting.

Dr Caroline Parkin

 BSc Hons, MB ChB, MRCS, FRCR

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust

Dr Parkin graduated from the University of Edinburgh and undertook radiology training in the North West of England. After completing a breast radiology fellowship, she joined Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust as a Consultant Breast Radiologist at The Nightingale Centre. She co-founded the National Breast Imaging Academy and chairs the oversight board for the Credential in Breast Disease Management.

Dr Rhidian Bramley

The Christie NHS Trust and Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance

Dr Rhidian Bramley is a consultant radiologist at the Christie NHS trust and diagnostic, digital and innovation clinical lead with the Greater Manchester cancer alliance, leading on projects including PACS and imaging AI. He is a member of the RCR AI committee, RCR NHS Global AI Conference committee and was formerly National clinical advisor for PACS and chair of the RCR UK Imaging Informatics specialist interest group.

Dr Hans-Ulrich Laasch

Consultant Radiologist, The Christie

Clinical Director, Minnova Medical Foundation CIC

Dr Laasch undertook his undergraduate training and doctorate at the Albert-Einstein University in Ulm, Germany. He initiailly trained as a general physician in the UK, passing MRCP in 1995 before starting a career as a radiologist. Following qualification in Clinical Radiology (FRCR) he undertook a 4-year fellowship in GI-intervention and interventional endoscopy during which he was elected SRT president. He was appointed as Head of Interventional Radiology at The Christie 2005-2018 and now offers endoscopic procedures within radiology. 

As one of the national experts in GI stents, he is heavily involved in teaching and education through several international societies and has contributed to a number of guidelines. Hans-Ulrich is a visiting professor in the Department of Natural Sciences at the University of Chester, honorary senior lecturer at Manchester University and is clinical director of Minnova Medical Foundation CIC, a not-for-profit company, which fundraises for research and education through teaching and collaboration with the device industry.

Dr Rachel Magennis 

Consultant Radiologist & Medical Examiner

Rachel Magennis is a Consultant Radiologist with a specialist interest in pelvic floor imaging. Passionate about continuous learning and professional development, Rachel leads the Radiology Events And Learning (REAL) initiative both locally and nationally, promoting a culture of learning from perceived errors, discrepancies and good spots in radiology.

​

As an educator, Rachel teaches human factors principles, emphasizing their role in improving patient safety and team dynamics. As a Schwartz Round facilitator, coach and mentor, Rachel is dedicated to strengthening communication, teamwork and well-being across the healthcare profession.

Dr Kish Mankad

Consultant Paediatric Neuroradiologist, Great Ormond Street Childrens' Hospital 

Dr Kish Mankad is a Paediatric Neuroradiologist based at London’s Great Ormond Street Childrens'
Hospital. He has a significant interest in outreach education and training, as has established several platforms for knowledge sharing internationally, essentially to make provisions for high class but economical education available to all, with the aim of standardising neuroradiological practices for all children wherever they may be.
He has a significant academic interest in all aspects of paediatric neuroimaging, and has published just under 300 peer reviewed papers, 4 textbooks and several book chapters. He has been awarded an honorary associate professorship at University College London.
Outside of medicine and education, Dr Mankad is an ardent fan of travel and writing.

Dr Riad Khouzami

AUBMC Radiology Professor 

Dr. Khouzami graduated with an MD from the American University of Beirut and completed his radiology training at AUBMC in 2003. He later specialized in non-vascular interventional radiology, vascular imaging, and advanced CT and MR imaging.

Currently, Dr. Khouzami is an instructor at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC). Previously, he served as an attending radiologist at Centre Hospitalier du Nord (CHN) and Keserwan Medical Center (KMC) until 2021, where he also held leadership roles, including Chairperson of the Medical Imaging Department.

Dr. Khouzami has contributed to several research projects and academic presentations, focusing on interventional radiology and advanced imaging techniques. His work continues to shape the field of radiology through clinical practice, education, and research.
